Key Updates for CUET 2025

Several significant changes have been introduced for CUET 2025 to enhance the examination process:

  • Reduction in Subjects: The number of subjects has been reduced from 63 to 37, comprising 23 domain subjects and 13 languages. Discontinued subjects include various foreign languages and specific domain subjects like Entrepreneurship and Legal Studies. 

  • Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted entirely in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. 

  • Subject Selection Flexibility: Candidates can now select subjects irrespective of their Class 12 subjects, offering greater flexibility in choosing their desired fields. 

  • Exam Duration: Each subject exam will have a duration of 60 minutes. 

  • Question Pattern: All questions in the CUET 2025 exam are compulsory, with no optional questions provided. 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CUET 2025, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board or be appearing for it in 2025. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam. However, candidates must ensure they meet the specific eligibility criteria of the universities they are applying to. 

Application Process

The application form for CUET 2025 is expected to be released in the first or second week of February 2025. Candidates can apply online through the official NTA CUET website.
