Reliance Jio has recently introduced two new prepaid plans tailored for users who primarily require voice calling and SMS services, without the inclusion of data benefits. This initiative aligns with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (TRAI) directive for telecom operators to offer standalone Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) focusing solely on voice and SMS.
New Voice-Only Plans:
-
₹458 Plan:
- Validity: 84 days
- Benefits:
- Unlimited voice calls
- 1,000 SMS
- Complimentary access to JioTV, JioCinema (non-premium), and Jio cloud
-
₹1,958 Plan:
- Validity: 365 days
- Benefits:
- Unlimited voice calls
- 3,600 SMS
- Complimentary access to JioTV, JioCinema (non-premium), and Jio cloud
It's important to note that these plans do not include any data allowances. However, users can still enjoy the mentioned Jio app subscriptions, which can be accessed via Wi-Fi or through separate data packs if needed.
In conjunction with the launch of these voice-only plans, Jio has discontinued its previous ₹189 'Value' plan, which offered unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS, and 2 GB of data. The focus now shifts to providing options that cater specifically to users who prioritize voice and SMS services.
These new offerings are particularly beneficial for individuals who primarily use their mobile services for calling and messaging, such as senior citizens or users in areas with limited internet access. By introducing these plans, Jio aims to provide cost-effective solutions that meet the diverse needs of its customer base.
